Update to an Earlier YouTube Video

Many people use NotifyWire to monitor Craigslist for their stolen property.  A while ago I made a video for people who've had their iPod or iPhone stolen explaining how to get your serial number off your computer even after the theft.

Today I got a question on how to do it using Windows 7.  I think iTunes has changed too because now the file is much easier to find and read.  Here are the steps to get your devices serial number.

There is now a file called iPodDevices.xml in a directory under your windows user profile.  Search for that file...

On my Win7 machine it's at: C:\Users\MY_USERNAME\AppData\Local\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPodDevices.xml.  In this file, your serial number can be found between the "string" tags immediately after the text "Serial Number" (which is between "key" tags).

I hope this helps a few more people.
